Citrix is ready for the iPad

Citrix is ready for the big release of the iPad tomorrow.

Right on time, Citrix has today released a new Citrix Receiver for iPad. The new iPad Receiver will use Dazzle features and integrate GoToMeeting into the iPad.

Even though there is no news from Apple, when they plan to release the iPad in Denmark, I’m ecstatic.

I think this is so cool and I hope the iPad (and Citrix Receiver on iPad) will turn out to be exactly as useful as I imagine it could be.

It looks like Citrix have done a great job in developing the client for iPad, If you haven’t seen it in action check out the demo on Citrix TV (http://www.citrix.com/tv/#videos/1935). One thing that i notice about the demo, is the fact that Chris Fleck use what looks like a mouse with the Receiver. I don’t think it will be possible to use a real mouse with the iPad, so it’s properly because the video is recorded with the iPad emulator.

UPDATED: Citrix have a trick up their sleeve. Check out this video and see how Gus Pinto use his iPhone as a trackpad to control the iPad (http://www.citrix.com/tv/#videos/1937).

If your one of the lucky owners of an iPad, you can download the Citrix Receiver for iPad via iTunes here (http://itunes.apple.com/ie/app/citrix-receiver-for-ipad/id363501921?mt=8).

For more information check out the official Citrix ipad site (http://www.citrix.com/ipad).

If you don’t have a Citrix farm, where you can test your new iPad with Citrix Receiver, you can test it at http://citrixcloud.net/Citrix_Cloud_Demos.html.

If you by any chance, is going to Synergy in San Francisco. I will be giving a session at Synergy with René Vester. In this session we will feature information on the iPad, and hopefully be able to make a demonstration of the new Citrix Receiver for iPad.
